Library

The Cranebrook High School CHS Library is a comprehensive 21st Century learning space. It hosts and supports a broad range of curricular and co-curricular activities.

Some facts:

  • open from 8am untill 3:05pm every school day (Wednesday 4pm)
  • interactive "Oliver" library system available to all CHS staff and students
  • wide range of Junior and Senior Textbooks, Fiction, Non Fiction, References, Biographies, Picture books, Manga, Graphic Novels, Magazines, Newspaper and DVDs.
  • reading and homework club every Wednesday 3pm to 4pm
  • senior study entre
  • accelerated reader program
  • multiple flexible learning areas
  • numerous computers, laptops and iPads for students and staff 
  • photocopy and laminating facilities.

On enrolment, students are automatically made members of the library. No "library card" is required.
Students may borrow up to three items for a fortnight. All students are expected to accept responsibility for items they use or borrow (i.e. pay for loss or damage).
Students with overdue items will not be able to borrow until all overdue items are returned/paid for.

No student should borrow for another student. If there is a problem, see the teacher librarian immediately.
Students have access to Library computers for school related tasks before school (from 8am), during lunch time & recesses. Students and parents need to be aware of the conditions of internet access. All students are assigned a user name and password for access to the network.

Our library is a bright and cheery learning hub humming with constant activity. The teacher Librarian and support staff is always at hand to assist users. Everyone is encouraged to explore our fantastic resources & enrich their learning journey at CHS.
